  • Following the publication of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Radiotherapy’s (APPG-RT) Manifesto, Tim Farron MP, Chair of the APPG-RT, wrote to Chief Executives of the 52 NHS Trusts providing radiotherapy across England in November 2018 with a follow up in June 2019. Questions were posed with the intention to gather data on each Trust’s experience of delivering radiotherapy services, the challenges they faced, and what changes were needed to better enable them to deliver a high level of service to all patients. A report was produced by the APPGRT detailing the findings.

  • The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Radiotherapy (APPG-RT) were successful in raising a vote-able debate in the House of Commons on Radiotherapy which was held on Thursday 18th July 2019. The motion was passed.

  • Gillian Keegan MP, then vice-chair of the APPGRT, wrote to HEE in support of training posts in Radiotherapy Physics funding. Funding has now been agreed for 20/21.

  • The APPG intervened and ensured that the Secure File Transfer System, which was to be discontinued, was kept in use for a further 6 months.
